Aunt Sylvia was a sweet, musically talented and caring lady with a beautiful smile and twinkly blue eyes. She had a great sense of humour!
One of my earliest memories of Aunt Sylvia is when my family visited her family in Foxearth, Suffolk. It was a busy household full of activity. There were lots of children playing in the house - my four younger cousins, Jeremy, Caroline, Tina and Edward and my brother, David, and I - along with their Corgi dog called Sally and lots of guinea pigs in hutches in the garden. Aunt Sylvia was always kind and smiling. She must have been a very busy young Mum!
Later on in life, she loved working in her beautiful garden in Rushmere St. Andrew and going for walks, specially with her miniature poodle, Skye. She enjoyed nature on her walks: flowers, the ducks and swans on the pond or river, the woods and open spaces.
She always took an interest in news about members of the wider family and spoke with caring and pride about her own family.
As her memory began to fade, she still responded lovingly to music, smiles, colour, nature, hugs and cuddles.
I will always treasure the times I shared with Aunt Sylvia over the years. Even when the Alzheimer's progressed and life was not easy for her, she remained a dear loving lady - my Mum's 'little' sister - my much-loved Aunt.
